The Mark of Honor Youth Shelter provides residential care for children and youth up to age 17 who have been removed from their homes and parental care for child abuse, neglect, or sexual assault. The ONFRC will oversee the development of this program to ensure that children, youth, and families will receive adequate services. The Mark of Honor Youth Shelter will provide emergency shelter care for up to 16 children and youth at a time and also has space for family visitation and to provide trauma-focused assessment and counseling for children. There will be an emphasis on creating a strong Omaha cultural influence throughout the services provided for Omaha children.
Mission Statement

Goal: To provide effective emergency shelter, trauma-focused treatment, and culturally designed services for children and youth from infancy through age 17 who have been removed from their homes due to sexual abuse, child abuse and neglect, and behavioral issues and are in need of out-of-home placements.
Objectives:
- To provide a trauma-informed environment as part of a safe, nurturing atmosphere for all residents of the Youth Shelter; and,
- To promote Umoⁿhoⁿ cultural services designed to provide support, learning, and healing opportunities for individual residents seeking to enhance their cultural identity and to experience personal growth.
